The Tb points given to this wine are the world’s most valid and most up-to-date evaluation of the quality of the wine. Tastingbook points are formed by the Tastingbook algorithm which takes into account the wine ratings of the world's best-known professional wine critics, wine ratings by thousands of tastingbook’s professionals and users, the generally recognised vintage quality and reputation of the vineyard and winery. The Story

Single vintages have been our signature for decades, stepping off the region’s blending tradition. Each vintage is a liquid snapshot that captures the essence of a particular year, echoing the elaboration of fine wines and champagnes, and is only possible in years when nature provides optimum conditions for remarkable expression.

Another unusual choice enables us to perpetuate a highly atypical approach to ageing: Early Landed vintages. The distinctive feature of these cognacs is that they are sent in cask to the United Kingdom to be matured in very different temperature and humidity conditions to those found in our Jarnac cellars. This twenty-year cross-channel sabbatical infuses the eaux-de-vie with a mellow, more delicate patina imbued with aromas of candied orange. Having a sip of the same vintage, aged in Jarnac or the United Kingdom, is always an astonishing experience, so distinct are their flavours.

Written Notes

Amber verging on copper, the nose is quite fresh and fruity, with orange hints, and a caramel edge. The palate is cool with mint, spice and richness. A herbal background to the finish leaves a complex feel to the flavour profile. There is still fire here but its a calm Szechuan style. Its classy spirit, invigorating.
