The Story

Over the centuries Warre's has made memorable wines which have earned for it First Growth status alongside a very small group of other elite producers. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Warre’s produced some of the greatest Vintage Ports ever made such as the 1870, 1887, 1896, the great 1904, the legendary 1908 and several more, all of which played a very significant role in establishing Port as one of the world’s finest wines.More recentl...

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is brownish, and looking dark, deep and mature. On the nose it is intense, youthful, ripe, generous and complex. The taste is round, ripe, harmonious, and sweet, with low tannin, and high in acidity, full-bodied, with perfectly balanced structure and mature. On the palate it is layered and has nutty, licorice, dried-fruit, plum and chocolate flavours. The finish is long, gentle, smooth, lingering, spicy and vibrant. This wine is impressive. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years and decant at least 45min before tasting.
