Written Notes

Dense youthful red.

Aromatically this wine ticks all of the aromtic boxes for both Pinot Noir and Central Otago. Florals, black berry fruit with a hint of animal that evolves nicely in the glass. Classy oak that is in perfect balance. Trademark thyme and a touch of stewed tamarillo round out the aromatic spectrum.

The palate is dense and easy. It is in that fine line between being "easy" and being "harmonious". All elements are working nicely together. However the palate never really comes to life. Not much evolution in the glass. Perhaps a lack of physical relief on the palate belies the aromatic promise. Plenty of stuffing but slightly amorphous. There is tannin, there is acid, there is fruit but unclear as to what is taking this wine forward. Should hold nicely for a furtehr 5-8 years.
