Domaine Zind-Humbrecht's 13.6-acre Grand Cru is the most southerly of Alsace’s Vineyards, located in the town of Thann. The due south-facing aspect of the vineyard increases the amount of direct sunlight, giving the vines a privileged position on the steep Rangen Hillside with its 70% gradient. The Story

The Gewurztraminer only represents a small portion (0.5ha) of the Clos-Saint-Urbain (5.5ha) because it is only planted on the lower part of the vineyard. Wine Information

The vintage 2013 is characterized by a succession of very dry and very wet periods. Inside Information

The nose is incredibly marked by the vineyard's strong character with lots of smoke and flint. The palate is powerful, intense and very long. The good acid balance brings some elements of freshness. More Rangen than Gewürztraminer, this wine will go through time very slowly.
