The Story

Poderi Aldo Conterno is a well-regarded and much soughter-after Piedmont producer known for its wines from Monforte d'Alba. Written Notes

First class looking bottle. Level was by the neck. Decanted only 15 minutes. Well developed, bright medium-deep browning colour. Sound and open nose with great expression of mint and chocolate, blackberries and earthy notes. The mouthfeel is surprisingly well balanced, silky and smooth firmed charmingly by ripe tannin and refreshing acidity. This wine is now harmonious and evolved today but will not keep and improve any longer. Excellent event.

Barolo Gran Bussia Riserva 2005 Fine elegant nose with dark fruit, balsamic notes, dark strawberries, orange zest, spices, tar and earthy notes though with very pure fruit. Medium bodied with a fresh and sweet dark berry fruit, tar, black pepper, spices and orange zest. Smooth, very elegant, long, focused and seamless. Restrained and feminine. Salt licorice, starts to open and show development with balsamic notes, smoke and tar but still very young. Long, elegant and meditative. Excellent. 2015-2035 96
