Wine Description
The Story
The Dickerson is Ravenswood's flagship Zinfandel, coming from a vineyard that dates back to 1930. The Old Hill hails from one of the oldest Zinfandel vineyards in the area, which dates back to the 1870s, making it one of the winery's standouts. Owing to their single-vineyard source, these wines are made in smaller batches, and older vintages are commonly more valuable.
Vintage 1990
In 1990, Napa Valley recorded a season of cool growing conditions and low crop yields, promising exceptional wine. Cooler than normal winter weather resulted in late bud break. Flowering and fruit set were delayed by seasonal conditions and rain at the end of May. Normal summer temperatures were followed by ideal harvest conditions.
