Written Notes

Leader of the pack again with the excellent 2008 vintage. A mix of tropical and spicy notes, terrific length, zippy acidity. Perhaps a hint more mellow than some years. Clean and fresh.

Pungent aromatics mark this as Savvy from the outset. It’s a clever mix between grassy varietal punch and yet tropical pine lime too. Pine lime fruit and plenty of acidity on the palate too. There’s a slight early-picked leanness here, but the freshness and aromatics coupled with firm – but not unripe – acidity make this appealing. A cut above many Aussie Sauvs, even if it is a simple wine of acid and aromatics. Best drinking: 2016-2018. 17.5/20, 91/100. 12%, $26. Would I buy it? I’d drink a bottle if I was thirsty for sure. Will be at peak drinking Christmas time.
