    Join us Now!

Acker’s Inaugural Swiss Auction is finally here! Join us Saturday, June 14 at 2pm CEST, live and live online from the elegant Metropol in Zurich, for a landmark sale featuring more than 1,300 lots of the finest and rarest wines—an estimated CHF 5 million in sales! Special pre-auction tastings and a celebration of Gevrey-Chambertin event will lead up to the big day, bringing Acker’s signature energy and conviviality to Europe for this momentous occasion – please join us in person if you can!

The sale is stacked with showstopping collections from all over Europe, including The Legendary Collection of Wolfgang Grunewald, Ancient Wonders of a Swiss Doctor, Northern Lights, Dreaming of a White Christmas, Around the World of Fine Wine in 137 Lots, From Switzerland with Love, and Alles Ist Gut! Besides the numerous Swiss collectors offering wines from their cellars, numerous other European countries are represented including the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Finland and Norway!!! The sale is truly special and a great beginning for our European business, and we are ecstatic to present it to you. Five direct consignments from iconic producers elevate the occasion even further—Domaine Dagueneau, Domaine Fourrier, Domaine Dugat-Py, Domaine Duroché, and Château de l’Étoile—making this a true celebration to remember!!!

There is no better way to kick off our very first live auction in Switzerland than with The Legendary Collection of Wolfgang Grunewald, in lots 1-51! A native of Appenzell, his main cellar is nestled in the mountains, where all of his exceedingly special wines are kept in rigorous temperature and humidity-controlled conditions. Wolfgang is a humidity fanatic—and those who have collected for decades will tell you: humidity is key for long-term aging. Built case by case and joyfully depleted bottle by bottle, Wolfgang’s cellar is one of the most soulful in the world. As he likes to say, “Terroir doesn’t end at bottling.” His fifty-one cherished selections include red Burgundy reaching back to 1923 and including 1961 Comte de Vogüé Musigny Vieilles Vignes on up to 2010 Drouhin Musigny and 2012 PonsotClos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes in magnum format. White Burgundy stars 1976 RamonetBâtard-Montrachet and 2012 Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Top Bordeaux, Champagne, and California round out the selection, capped by some incredible bottles of Taylor Fladgate Port back to 1863 and the rarest Klein Constantia that possibly dates back to 1791! We are honored to offer wines from this true bon vivant, still spry and active at the young age of ninety-five!!

Nearly fifty special selections from Ancient Wonders of a Swiss Doctor grace this landmark European sale in lots 52-101. A generous and devoted wine lover, this good doctor has hosted many esteemed tasting events, always eager to open something extraordinary. Sourced straight from temperature-controlled storage in Geneva, the collection is solely Bordeaux—and what a selection it is! 1900 Lafite, 1921 Haut-Brion, 1945 Latour, 1959 La Mission, 1961 Lafite, and modern marvels like 1982 Cos d’Estournel and 1998 Cheval Blanc in magnum are all offered in excellent condition—rare, old, majestic, and truly what the doctor ordered! There are so many gorgeous old bottles here!!

From a seasoned collector and Scandinavian hockey player comes Northern Lightslots 102-271, a 116-lot marvel removed from his immaculate personal cellar in Finland! Bordeaux shines from 1924 Margaux to 2020 Pétrus, with highlights including 1959 Latour, 1989 Mouton, and 1937 & 1945 Yquem. Burgundy glimmers with 1991 RousseauChambertin, 1985 DRC La Tâche, and six vintages of Ramonet Montrachet. There’s also Vega Sicilia to 1968, Grange to 1959, and rare Tokaji Essencia, capped with a Champagne lineup including seven vintages of Selosse and bottles of 1995 Krug Clos d’Ambonnay. A dazzling tour through some of the world’s most sought-after wines thanks to our Finnish friend!

A second stunning Nordic entry is Dreaming of a White Christmas, a 129-lot White Burgundy dream in lots 520-648. A retired elite athlete consigned this showstopper, storing his prized bottles with the same precision he brought to sport, in impeccable, temperature-controlled professional storage in Norway.  Raveneau takes the spotlight with eighty lots spanning 1979–2013, including full cases of Blanchot, Butteaux, Les Clos, and Valmur. Thirty-one lots of Coche-Dury follow, including 2008 Meursault Caillerets and 2009 Perrières, joined by top-tier Red Burgundy from DRC and Rousseau. You don’t have to dream about it, the finest Burgundy can be yours from this magical collection!!

The 137 spectacular selections in Around the World of Fine Wine, lots 649-785, take us on a globe-spanning wine journey with bottles removed from professional storage in Switzerland! Bordeaux features jaw-dropping highlights including 2000 Cheval Blanc in magnum and 2005 in double magnum OWC, bottles and magnums of 2005 Pétrus, 2016 Le Pin magnums, and an imperial of 1995 Mouton!! Burgundy arrives with fifteen lots of Rousseau and twenty-seven of DRC, alongside additional high points from MortetRoumierMéo-CamuzetPrieuré-RochRamonet, and Coche-Dury. Champagne sabers Salon Le Mesnil, while Italy boasts GiacosaOrnellaia, and more.  Harlan from multiple vintages brings us back stateside and wraps up this monumental collection from a truly spectacular Swiss collector!

Last but not least, we are distinctly honored to welcome five direct consignments from some of the most revered producers in France to this historic auction. For deeper insight into each of these remarkable domaines and their offerings, don’t miss the full write-ups in the catalog, but we welcome with open arms and open mouths Domaine Didier Dagueneau( lots 786-802), Domaine Fourrier ( lots 803-817), Domaine Dugat-Py ( lots 818-828), Domaine Duroché ( lots 829-833) and Château de L’Étoile ( lots 834-858). BWW2025

VOTE NOW FOR YOUR FAVOURITE WINES FOR THE BEST WINE OF THE WORLD2025 -TITLE

"We believed the opinion of 10,000 consumers or 1,000 professionals to be more correct and more significant than a small group of wine professionals, when it comes to judging a wine competition - so, please vote!

BWW-The Best Wine of the World-competition is by far the toughest wine competition on this planet. Unlike any other industry competition, less than 1% of the wines involved will be awarded.

BWW is also the largest wine competition: The BWW competition has already received in total over 15 million votes. The voting time ends at the end of May 2025.
