The estate’s history stretches back to the 15th century, but its winemaking prestige took shape in 1872 when wealthy landowner William Wells built the striking neo-Gothic château that stands today. For over a century, the property was world-famous almost exclusively for its sweet botrytized wines from the neighboring Loupiac appellation.
