Deep blood red, there is good freshness throughout this wine. I think that this is a new addition to the range and, if so, a most welcome one. The nose reveals aromas of black cherries, spices, dark chocolate, very good oak integration with hints of vanilla, cassis, beefstock and some spicy notes. Despite the power and concentration, and remembering that all things are relative, we do see some finesse and refinement. This is a classy McLaren Vale Shiraz. There is immaculate balance, great length and the wine finishes with silky tannins. Like this immensely. Everything is in place and should remain so for at least two decades. 95.
