Prachiosso Roero 2018

"Prachiosso" is the name of a vineyard situated on the hills of Sant'Anna in Monteu Roero, where the Nebbiolo and Arneis species of vine provide the basis from which this wine is produced. The production method requires 98% Nebbiolo and only 2% Arneis. The grapes are harvested at the Prachiosso vineyard late in the year, in early to mid October and the temperature during the wine-making process is always carefully controlled, with a maceration period of 12-14 days. In the New Year the wine matures in large steel, steel wooden and oak containers and in September it is bottled and is refined for several months before it is ready for consumption. It is an intense ruby colour and has an abundant, fruity and inviting aroma with intimations of geranium, strawberries, raspberries and a subtle hint of spices. It is strong-willed, yet elegant and well-proportioned.
