History

In 1906, Matteo Battuello arrived in America by steamship docking at Ellis Island.  He made his way to New Mexico landing a job in the mining industry. Matteo had family friends from Italy that had settled in the Napa Valley and encouraged him to come out west.  Soon after coming to California he purchased the property in Saint Helena. Vineyards

The Battuello Estate sits in the Narrow northern end of the Napa Valley; part of the Appellation Saint Helena.  The 82 acre family vineyard consists of a variety of soil types created by the nearby Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges. Individually farmed blocks combined with a base of warm days, cool nights and well drained soils are a recipe for outstanding wine grape production.
