Bodegas Viña Izadi

In 1987, Gonzalo Antón, together with a group of friends and business people from nearby Vitoria, began a groundbreaking project in deepest Rioja Alavesa. The village of Villabuena de Alava, where his family already grew grapes, was chosen as the location for the innovative bodega which would focus on making fine wine.

Gonzalo’s knowledge of hotels and restaurants soon made Izadi one of the most highly-regarded wines in gastronomic circles....

Izadi has access to 178 hectares of vines, 70 of which it owns, in small parcels in the triangle made up of the villages of Villabuena, Samaniego and Abálos.

Izadi El Regalo, wine selected for the Felipe VI crowning celebration. Izadi El Regalo 2007 was the wine selected for the celebration banquet after the crwoning of Felipe VI as the new king in Spain. The offical ceremony took place in Royal Palace. More than 2.000 guests attended the celebration.
