Jeannie Cho Lee MW, Wine Writer (South Korea)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine de la Vougeraie . In a tasting of  18 wines

Domaine Liger-Belair, La Romanée Grand Cru, Burgundy, 2011/ Seductive nose with complex layers of flavours that are persistent and long. Gorgeous wines with focus, depth and a profile that ranges from flowers, spices and herbs to red berry fruits. Delicate, persistent and classy.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti 2016 / 99 points / Just a point away from perfection in 2016, but what a wine this is, even at this young age. Serious, dense, complete and self-assured, it's a Grand  Cru that knows where it's going and will age effortlessly for 30 years or more. Liquorice, tobacco pouch and wood bark aromas segue into a palate that's sweet and complex, with tarry tannins and a core of glorious red fruit sweetness. 2036-50

Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet 2016 - 98 points / Domaine Leflaive doesn’t show its Montrachet to visiting wine writers - and it didn't make any under its own label in 2016 - so this is nearly always my favourite wine to taste in the cellar. Reflecting its higher position on the slope, the resulting Grand Cru is very fresh, almost bracing, with notes of white pepper and lemon zest, stylish oak and amazing palate length. 2021-35

Clive Coates / MW, Wine Writer (France)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine de la Vougeraie . In a tasting of  36 wines

The 2009 white wines in the Côte d'Or are attractive but not as successful. Yes: there is no lack of ripe, succulent fruit, but here I do have to search more extensively for the sort of reserve I seek; the austerity at this stage that indicates the wine will be better at eight years old than at four. The quality in the Mâconnais as well as Chablis has been to some extent compromised by their local weather conditions. In general I prefer the 2008s and 2010s in both cases, but there are no long faces. It may be the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise have got the best of it this year, as far as white wines are concerned; but elsewhere growers are nevertheless more than happy. The Beaujolais crus, on the other hand, are terrific. These are the best Beaujolais I have enjoyed for many a year.

Clive Coates / MW, Wine Writer (France)  tasted  2 wines  from  Domaine de la Vougeraie . In a tasting of  39 wines

But by and large the 2009 weather conditions could hardly have been better. August especially, in contrast to recent years, was magnificent. Remember the old saying 'Août fait le moût' (August makes (creates) the must). September was warm with a drying north wind, preserving the acidities which in the light of the fine weather and generous harvest might have begun to sink to levels close to dangerously low. In fact though these levels were not by any means high, apparently the pHs are quite normal. The fruit was so healthy it was hardly necessary to do a triage.

Romanée-Conti, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2009 / Just a little less colour than the Tache. Not a lot on the nose at present. You have to go searching for it. What there is is very poised and very harmonious as well as being very complex and classy. The fruit is more red flavoured than the Tache. Marvelously fine and intense. Really quite excellent. 20 points

Clive Coates / MW, Wine Writer (France)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine de la Vougeraie . In a tasting of  44 wines

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti 2010 / 20.0 points.

Fine colour. Aromatic, minerally nose. Not as fat as La Tache or Richebourg. A bit more of the stems. Best on the follow through. Very, very lovely complex fruit. Marvelous long, lingering finish. Truly excellent.
