History
Located in Ampuis near Vienne in the Rhône department, the Rosiers estate is a family farm producing various appellations of origin (AOC) emblematic of the northern Rhône valley such as Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu that it sells for sale. directly at the estate but also at various wine merchants, bars and restaurateurs in France and around the world.
Manager of the estate since 2013, Maxime Gourdain, a young winegrower in search of excellence through the quality of his cuvées, adapts the family know-how in order to produce wines with authentic flavors from sustainable viticulture, respectful of the vineyards and traditional winemaking.
Our objective is to preserve and perpetuate the wine property, by constantly seeking to improve the quality of the various vintages of the estate while seeking to develop alternative solutions in order to always limit our impact on the environment as much as possible.
In order to make you discover our production, we seek to showcase our wines in various markets and fairs in Ampuis, Tain-l'Hermitage, Saint-Peray, but also in Paris (Saint Cloud and Péniche at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. ), or Welkenraedt in Belgium.
BACKGROUND
The Rosiers estate was officially created in 1976 by André Drevon during the first full bottling and direct sale of a wine from a harvest, until then sold to certain local merchants.
In 1980, Louis Drevon, devoted to the service of this very old vineyard suspended in the Rhône valley, joined forces with his father to found Gaec de Syrah. Together, they manage more than 7 hectares of vines.
A few years later, Louis Drevon took over the entire estate, thus the Domaine de Rosiers was born, a name replacing Gaec de Syrah, referring to the place called Rozier where a large part of it is located. of the estate's vines.
In 2013, Maxime Gourdain took over from his uncle Louis Drevon in the exploitation of the Rosiers estate.
As a passionate connoisseur, Maxime Gourdain is committed to working his vineyard scrupulously. He develops new plantations, clears hillsides with restoration of the walls, and the construction of new vats, in order to improve the quality of his wines.
Thanks to this work, our wine is today rewarded and has a controlled label of origin.
This is how the idea was born of orienting production towards the development of direct bottled sales, while respecting the tradition of producing local wines.
