The winery was founded in 2005 by two highly esteemed persons from the Ningxia wine industry, Rong Jian and Wang Fengyu. A young lady Zhang Jing, joined in the team as the winemaker from the beginning and Professor Li Demei as a wine consultant in 2006.

The winery currently cultivates 15 hectares of vines, which ensure 40,000 to 50,000 bottles of fine wine (3300 to 4100 cases) per year. it has a 1000-square-meter cellar and produces Bordeaux-style reds. In 2011, Qingxue Vineyard won the International Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards for its Jia Bei Lan Grand Reserve 2009 (2009 Cabernet), which is the highest award ever won by a Chinese winery.

The winery is well-known of Jia Bei Lan series wines which have won many awards in China and abroad. Their flagship wine Jia Bei Lan Grand Reserve 2009 won an International Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) in 2011 with the highest honour.
