Medlock Ames is an estate fine wine producer located in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California. Started in 1998 by friends Chris James and Ames Morison, we consider our commitment to quality through mindful and organic farming to be one of our greatest assets. With Ames at the helm as our winemaker, our vineyards are farmed organically with no insecticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides.

Ames Morison is the winemaker and founding partner of Medlock Ames winery. A Virginian native, Ames graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Ancient History before working as a teacher in New York. His agricultural career began with a three-year placement in Guatemala with the Peace Corps. During this time, he worked with the locals using traditional, but often forgotten, modes of farming.
