Columbia Valley vineyards are ideally located for grape-growing. A hot, dry climate and limited rain in Eastern Washington is perfect for grape vines.

Both Merf and the grapes enjoy long summers: roughly two more hours of sunlight daily during the peak growing season than California, allowing more time for the fruit to ripen.
