Salomon Undhof is a mute witness to history. The Capucine Monks, predecessors to the Salomon family at the winery until 1792, had selected the very best vineyard sites, which have been passed down from generation to generation of Salomons. Vineyards

Here in Stein/Donau, where the winegrowing areas Kremstal and Wachau are interlocked, the soil  offers a fascinating array of  pimary rock terroirs (Urgestein) such as gneiss, granite and schist as well as partly loess.
