The Story
Made with a coupage of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano from our best vines. After fermentation at a low temperature and long maceration, it was aged for two and a half years in American (40%) and French (60%) oak casks, until ready for bottling in January 2012.
Wine Information
The 2001 vintage, qualified as EXCELLENT by the DOC Rioja Control Board, was probably the best Harvest up to date, after the mythical and long-time run out 1964 Harvest.
The optimum quality of the grape let a slow fermentation and long maceration in order to obtain colour extraction, tannins and aromas. It was aged during 3 years in French and American oak barrels until being bottled in June of 2007.
