A wine made with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo.

This Castillo de Ygay Gran Reserva Especial 2010 from Marqués de Murrieta winery leaves us with a wine with a medium-high layer of a cherry red evolved somewhat, ruby rim in movement. This Graciano adds more color than in previous vintages.

The nose has a high intensity. Lots of red fruit, strawberries, blueberries, with some hints of coconut, perhaps a touch of herbs. Clove spice. Quality leather. Mineral, graphite. Very fine toast. A beast on the nose. Very complex.

The attack on the palate leaves us subtlety and elegance. It maintains freshness on the palate, good structure, and an herbaceous touch as in the nose. Wine with many years of life. Totally balanced. Tannin present, quite well done. Brutal bitterness on the finish. Very long.

Great wine, huge vintage of this Ygay Gran Reserva in this vintage 2010, as it could not be otherwise of the wines that come from the hand of this winery.

Marvelous aromas of crushed berries, tobacco, cedar and mushrooms. Some dried cheese. Then turns to flowers. Very complex. Full and intense with fantastic depth and power. It goes on for minutes. It is a wine that exudes tradition but gives a sense of modernity with precise winemaking. Two years in oak, one in concrete and three or four in bottle. Drink on release and age onwards.

Inside Information

The wine shows an elegant range of aromas in which the strawberry and raspberry scents are enhanced with clove and nutmeg touches and hints of tea leaves, fine leather and graphite. In the palate, it is a deep, fresh and refined wine, with a long finish and velvety tannins.
