A new red blend form Itata, the 2018 Las Olvidadas Mezcla Tinta was produced with an 80/20 blend of extremely old País and San Francisco, a grape they think might be Negramoll from their vineyard (2,507 ancient plants). The grapes fermented together after being hand destemmed like the traditional Pipeño wines, without any additions, and then the wine was put in barrel for malolactic and 14 months of aging. It has a wild, captivating nose that is complex, perfumed and very attractive, mixing herbs, berries and flowers. 2018 was a very harmonious and clean year with healthy grapes, and the wine is precise and focused. This is really amazing. 3,552 bottles were filled in July 2018

Eduardo Jordán left De Martino to join Miguel Torres's project in Chile. So, De Martino has hired a new young winemaker, Jaime de la Cerda, who comes with 13 years of experience at MontGras. As for the wines, they have a couple new labels: Las Olvidadas, from vineyards in Itata that they bought in 2013, and D'Oro, a late harvest from Isla de Maipo. 2017 was a year marked by crazy wild fires, 2018 was a cooler vintage, one of the finest in the last 20 years, and 2019 was again warmer.
