Written Notes

The blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot.

A bold crimson hue sets the tone for a wine that is both vibrant and seductive. The nose is immediately tempting—layered with jammy spice, delicate mint, and a ripened medley of dark and red berries. Full-bodied on the palate, it delivers remarkable energy and precision. Polished tannins frame the dense fruit core, offering texture and elegance in equal measure. There's a captivating duality at play—intensity and finesse, richness and clarity. The finish lingers gracefully, echoing ripe fruit and savory spice long after the last sip.If enjoyed now, decant for at least 4 hours to fully awaken its layers. Serve at 17–18°C in a Riedel Winewings Bordeaux glass to accentuate its structure and aromatics. Great pairing with Roast Pigeon with Red Wine Jus & Forest Berry Purée. – JL 97p (Nov 2024)

The 2019 season was warmer and sunnier than 2018, producing wines with more generosity and fruit-forward character. The year had a wet start with over 34 inches of rain, leading to vigorous vine growth. Luckily the summer was dry and warm, with no extreme heat—ideal for slow, even ripening. Harvesting took place earlier than 2018, with concentrated berries due to mild dehydration. The yield was slightly above average, but lower than the bumper crop of 2018. Style-wise the wines of the vintage show plush style, ripe tannins and expressive fruit. Compared to the graceful 2018, the 2019 vintage is more generous and fruit-driven, with a plush texture and earlier accessibility. Winemakers praised the vintage for its purity of fruit, seamless texture, and early drinkability, while still offering aging potential of 25–35 years.
