Álvaro Palacios Les Terrasses “Velles Vinyes” 2021 is a radiant and expressive Priorat that balances bright fruit intensity with elegant structure. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of ripe red and black berries—black cherry, raspberry and blackberry—interlaced with floral lift, Mediterranean herbs and a fine touch of spice. Subtle earthy and mineral notes, characteristic of the llicorella soils, lend depth and complexity.
On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied with supple, ripe tannins and lively acidity that give drive and focus. The fruit core is pure and energetic, unfolding layers of dark fruit, citrus peel and a hint of slate-like minerality. Savoury nuances of dried herbs and a touch of cracked black pepper add dimension without detracting from the wine’s clarity.
The finish is long, harmonious and fresh, leaving a lasting impression of juicy fruit and mineral precision. A beautifully balanced and approachable expression that captures both the youthful vitality and terroir-driven nuance of Priorat.
