Inside Information

MEDIA:

-International Wine Report, April '17 gave 91 points to 2012 Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature. "No dosage was added to this dry Sparkling Wine which was aged for 40 months on the lees prior to disgorgement in June 2016. The wine is a blend of Xarel-Lo (40%) with the remainder Macabeo (30%) and Parellada (30%). A golden hued wine, there are rich aromatics of Marcona almond, brioche, apricot, and Gala apple. This leads to flavors of cantaloupe, brioche, green papaya and baking spices. The weight on the mid-palate gives this an added richness. While this possesses some aging potential, it is drinking exceedingly well right now."

- The Wine Advocate, Oct '16 gave 90 points to 2012 Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature. "...Plenty of notes of yeast and bread dough, and integrated bubbles, with a sharp palate that feels quite dry. Clean, fresh and with good complexity."

-Vinous Media (Explore All Things Wine), Jan '16 gave 91 points to 2012 Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature. "Incisive aromas of Meyer lemon, quince, toasty lees and candied ginger, accented by sexy floral notes...Racy, stony and sharply focused, the very persistent finish lingers with minerality and floral character."
