The Story
The Prophet’s Rock Dry Riesling comes from our Rocky Point vineyard, where we have a tiny one-hectare parcel growing on schist rock soil. Riesling holds a special place in our hearts and gets a lot of attention in the vineyard and winery. It gets the same meticulous treatment in the vineyard as our top Pinot Noir, and our yields are extremely low, creating a concentrated expression of our unique site. The grapes for this wine were handpicked and field sorted, once at the winery the fruit was gently whole-bunch pressed over 6 hours to retain maximum aromatics and freshness. The wine was fermented using only indigenous ‘wild’ yeast inmultiple small lots. Once fermentation was completed the wine was matured on its yeast lees prior to bottling on the 25th of February 2016. Bottled under Diam cork which are certified taint-free.
