The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr vineyard in the most northernly site and directly borders the northern edge of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Both sites are named after the sundials (Sonnenuhr) that sit amongst the vines and that are clearly visible from the other side of the river. Lovely, complex aroma of smoky fumes, but the citrus fruit – lemon and grapefruit – breaks through in its pure intensity. Extreme lightness of touch hides the concentration at the heart of the wine. Pure grapefruit creaminess on the finish, so that the sweetness just passes you by. Elegant and long.
