ORIGIN
This wine was made entirely from grapes of our own vine yard located in the coastal area of the Limarí Valley in the north of Chile.
VINEYARD
The vines are planted in the oldest alluvial terrace of the Limarí River; the soil profile is a mix of different sizes gravels, clay and sand with high concentrations of active calcium carbonates (limestone) and different type of salts, due to the very little amount of rainfall per year (70–100mm) in the area. This geological condition makes this place unique in Chile in terms of the soil formation and composition.
CLIMATE
The vineyards are planted 29 km from the Pacific Ocean, with important temperature influence, due to intense sea breezes, which cool down the area and makes it very suitable for grape growing, plus a healthy phitosanitary condition of the grape, due to rain absence during the harvest season, making this place a paradise for vine growing and good quality grape.
PRODUCTION
From the pruning to the harvest, every single work done in the vineyard has gone under the carefull supervision of the viticulture and winemaking team in order to produce the best quality grape possible.
The fruit was handpicked and then placed in 20 kg cases so there is no breakage of the grapes, the picking is in three different moments due to the differences in ripeness of the varieties that are involved in this wine, starting with Merlot the last week of April, then Cabernet Sauvignon the second week of May and finally with Syrah in the last week of May. The fruit then underwent a very carefull
selection of bunches and grapes to be sure that only the best grapes are crushed and vinified in small stainless steel tanks.
AGEING
The wine was aged for 18 month in 100% French oak barrels.
PRODUCER'S TASTING NOTES
