The Story

The special features of MISERERE (Mas d’en Bruno, 13th century) stem from the grapes of old vines –planted more than 40 years ago– of the local grenache and ull de llebre varieties and from grapes of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in El Priorat, masterfully combined with grapes of the merlot and cariñena varieties. Planted in one of the finest slate soils of the whole DOQ Priorat area, these five varieties give MISERERE the honour of being one of the most elegant wines apt for aging in the bottle to be found in the international market today, without sacrificing any of the great structure and strength

Written Notes

Costers del Siurana of Carles Pastrana is one of the founders of the Priorat renaissance. Miserere was created for the first time in 1990 and has performed remarkably well since. The wine’s fascination lays in its elegant yet firm nature and structure capable of bottle aging. Miserere is made of a blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cariñena. Pale developing brick red colour. Stylish and seamlessly integrated nose that offers delicate nuances of fresh roasted coffee, tar and sweet dark berries. Fresh acidity and perfect mineral touches make this a very lively and refreshing wine. Outstanding harmony, smoothness yet structured backbone. One of the greatest Priorats, no doubt. Exquisitely enjoyable right now but its harmonious nature guarantees that there is no hurry.
