The Story

Château La Lagune is a 3éme Cru Classé property that produces some of the finest wines in the Haut-Médoc AC. La Lagune's history dates back to 1715 when its handsome château was constructed. The vineyards were first planted in 1724.

Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

Written Notes

Deep ruby red colour. Intense nose is bit reserved but charming with its ripe blackcurrant and bramble nose with spicy tones. Medium-bodied, round and mellow palate. Gentle, round fine-grained tannins with lovely toasty spiciness in the lingering finish. A firm and solid Claret. Peaking in 2023-2026. If enjoyed now, decant for 2 hours and serve at 17-18°C with roasted beef and grilled root vegetables. JL 91p (4/2019)

Dark purple red colour with violet hue and almost black core. Rich nose with distinct berry fruit, hints of blackberry jam, ripe strawberries, discreet spiciness, vanilla and cardamom, elegant roasting aroma. On the palate well structured with rich fruit, silky tannins and excellent length.

Deep colour. Beautiful wine. Lovely intense pure blackcurrant aromas and flavours with hints of dark chocolate and herbs. Supple wine with smooth velvety structure and attractive espresso notes. Finishes chocolaty and long with bitter-sweet notes. Very well made wine. 95 points
