The Story

All of our ten vineyard designate Chardonnays are marked first and foremost by regional characteristics. Beyond that lies the personality of each of the vineyards from which they hail. All of the sites are planted to the same clone, a California heritage selection that we have been using for close to thirty years. Lemon yellow. Rich, buttery, minerals, apples and creamy feel to the nose. A whiff of popcorn and ripe lemons. Fresh acidity, creamy texture, minerals, almost smoky, ever so slightly warm touch, vanilla and extreem length. Visqous and seemless. Nailed producer.

Vine Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2008 Lovely, open and intense nose with tropical fruit, ripe citrus, peaches, roasted nuts and notes of white flowers that really makes it all elegant and interesting. Very compelling and seductive nose. Full bodied and smooth with ripe tropical fruit, mango, pineapples, lemons, grapefruits, graham crackers and a buttery note. Has very nice palate grip and length that gives away some minerality. Young today but very good! Drink 2013-2018 92+p
