    MY TOP WINES 2010

2017 is now firmly part of history and with 7826 wines tasted in 2017, it has been a busy year. But two wines have already seen 96 points in 2018! Highlights of the year other than specific wines?

-My first trip to the Rhône Valley, and my first really close look on several wines from this valley side by side. Some stunning stuff made here. I knew that from before, but I still get to taste very few of these lovelie...

TOP 41 WINES from Bordeaux vintage 2015

The wines on this list is chosen for their believed future score and and thereafter in the order that I would like to buy them to have them in my collection (if I had money dripping from my finger tips) but there are, luckily, some wines on this list that are not overly expensive. After five hundred and fifty plus wines tasted of the 2015 vintage more or less everything there is to taste of names have...

    Château Montrose 1928-2015

2015 Château Montrose APR 16 Ruby. Spices, dark fruits, floral, red berries, floral, detailed, maybe not the most intense Montrose but a lovely nose. Me

To me wine is one of the greatest and sometimes worst of the worlds greatest pleasures. When you get that one bottle, or even that one sip of a truly great wine, you're just lost. Wine can be almost everything, great pleasure, great fun, deeply tragic, complex, easy, boring, fresh, fantastic, but maybe the greatest of it all, floating history. Imagine drinking your birth year wine, you drink you're own age, and in a way your own life. Memories...

MY top wine moments of 2016.

It is a list, but it’s difficult to put it correctly, it’s more the first that springs to my mind thinking back on the year that has passed by.

    1. Just for the sheer pleasure and luxury of being able to follow and share one bottle of 1982 Château Mouton Rothschild over several hours with just one fellow drinker. A magnificent bottle, the best one I’ve had, opened randomly (word not chosen randomly) by ...

Christer Byklum/ BWW2024 Finalist, Wine Writer (Norway)  had a tasting of  32 Wines  from  9 Producers

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti 2007 / Bright garnet. So incredibly transparent, nuanced, layered, like sheets of the finest silk, very tender, yet powerful. The silk wraps around and hides every other sensation than this wine, in such a delicate way. Subdued yet flamboyant. Ethereal. Spices, flower garden, dried and fresh fruits, exotic, wide and focused, pure as none. Fresh acidity, few and ripe tannins, almost watery palate in its uttermost transparent state, playful like a shy child playing in the corner, you barely notice it, but you hear it's laughter. Elusive like a beautiful butterfly in summer. And all of this was written during the aftertaste of the first sip alone. This is magic, and I hope I can taste it once more. It gives length a new meaning. Most will not be impressed by it, I'm sure, but like something transparent and tender from Mozart, take away one note, and it would not be a masterpiece. 100

Cheval Blanc 1945 / Echenauer bottling. Top shoulder fill. Bright garnet with orange rim. Rich nose, sweet lilies, exotic, spices, layers upon layers and very complex. Fresh acidity, tannins polished and more or less gone, or at least extremely integrated into the texture. Lively, balanced, fresh and long. Broadbent: ' A total contrast to the uniquely mammoth '47. A more typical Cheval Blanc in its fragrance, deft touch and elegance'. 95
