Fermentation takes place in 100 year old plus open oak vats followed by maturation in small French and American oak prior to bottling and then further cellaring before release. These quite remarkable wines fittingly carry the na...

Wine Information

The first overland route from Melbourne (Port Phillip) to Sydney (Port Jackson) from 1836 to 1843, passed through the land now known as Tahbilk (Melbourne itself was first settled in 1835).

Written Notes

Brick reds, some maturity evident in the colour. This is a soft, elegant, finely crafted red, exhibiting some spice notes, some earthy fungals, root vegetables, dry herbs and red fruits. It is nicely balanced. Quite a deceptive wine with lots of very fine tannins. Gentle style but a lovely drink. Good length. A very attractive wine from Central Victoria.
