The Story

Baron Bornemisza Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos is a very special wine, rich rather than sweet. It is only made in extraordinary vintages, when climactic conditions are perfect, and, thus, we rarely produce more than three or four vintages per decade.

With excellent acidity and lovely orange, citrus tones, it is exceptionally versatile as an accompaniment to food. It works well with savoury delicacies such as foie gras, truffles and anchovy paste and, post prandial, particularly enhances fruit based desserts such as tarte tatin and raspberry mousse.  Equally, it is a wonderful climax to a meal when simply drunk on its own.

This wine come from a very small vineyard managed by the reknown Tokaij wine Maker Gabor Orozs, which is the personal friend of Lodovico Antinori and they have developed this project long time ago when Tibor Gal still alive. The aim was to produce only the 6 Puttonyos type, that gives the best expression of this rare and luxurios wine. The production of Baron Bornemisza is averaging 2000 bottles per vintage ones dedicated.
