Vibrant, watermelon pink with pale rose edging. This wine offers strawberries and cream on the nose, tempered by a squeeze of citrus, a dash of cranberry and subtle notes of rosewater and basil The palate is an explosion of pink grapefruit with the crunch of ripe pomegranate while a cool minerality adds balance and a refreshing, saline tang to its moreish, creamy texture
The grapes for this wine hail largely from Cape Mentelle’s Crossroads vineyard, where thirteen-year-old Grenache and un-grafted, Shiraz vines grow together on geologically ancient, free draining soils to produce exceptionally high quality grapes. Complementing this noble blend is a small batch of Shiraz from a sunny spot, 12km north in the area of Wilyabrup.
