Wine Description
The Story
Sammarco is a very fresh wine with fine aromas of woodland undergrowth and a deep, intense colour. It is characterised by distinct aromas of ripe fruit and has a strong concentration of powerful tannins.
It is an elegant and refined wine: Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with a percentage of Sangiovese and Merlot.
Production varies depending on the weather conditions: 8000 – 18000 bottles.
Vintage 2013
Italy’s 2013 wine vintage is widely celebrated as a landmark, classic vintage, especially in Northern and Central Italy. After the hot, quick-ripening 2011 and 2012 seasons, 2013 brought a welcome return to a cooler, traditional European climate. A late spring and long, mild summer allowed grapes to ripen slowly, leading to exceptional aromatic complexity, vibrant acidity, and firm, age-worthy tannins.
