Wine Description
The Story
Everything started with the Rosenberg. The Veltlin sticks rooted in it are the oldest of the farm, their potential and their power were aware of us from the beginning. The Rosenberg was then my first official single-layer bottling - until today it is paradigmatic for a powerful and long-lived Veltliner type. Partly responsible for this are his south-facing terraces, which store heat in mighty loess walls. The Rosenberg is biodynamically farmed.
Wine Information
Biodynamic. The fully ripe grapes were harvested on October 7 and 12, 2015, spontaneously fermented in steel tanks, left to macerate for over 12 hours. Bottling in June 2016.
Tasting notes: Stones, not too little pepper, lots of herbs and subtle fruit notes. The texture is dense, compact and substantial and is bundled by animating acidity. Fine tanning nuances counteract the power and substance of the Rosenberg and make it a structuring corset. Pulls punchy and dynamic towards the palate, where grapefruit notes open a new aromatic chapter. Amazingly open for his youth - patience is still rewarded.
