History

The Maison Gamet is a story of back & forth between two villages from Champagne Region: Mardeuil & Fleury-la-Rivière. François Gamet, native of Fleury-la-Rivière comes down of his village to join and helping his grand-mother Victoire out, on the farm located in Mardeuil. Philippe, the son of François, born & raised in Mardeuil within the farm, will then meet Fabienne, his future wife, on the lands of Fleury-la-Rivière; A small village strewn on the heights of the Marne Valley, where the heritage of millions years still reveals the past within sandy soils, where you can find again shells between two vines.

Fabienne Heucq of her maiden name, is also born within a winegrower family. Her father Robert Heucq was a beloved man and a winemaker, who has also contributed to the growth of the Champagne Region, especially in the development of Fleury-la-Rivière, as he was part of the cooperative founder.

Married in 1992, Fabienne & Philippe have linked their know-how and their legacies to finally found their own domain. Today joined by their children, Jean-François, oenologist and Marianne, a young entrepreneure, the Maison Gamet is at the crossroads of the generations.

Owner of a winery and a farm, the Maison Gamet aims today a new dynamism where the savoir-faire of the land is the new focus. From Champagne to the development of mouth products, many projects are on the way. We won’t give any further details, but stay tuned!

Artisan & Winegrower in Champagne and also ‘Récoltant-Manipulant’, the Maison Gamet is proud of its heritage and its history. Beginning with the tenacity of the grandmother of François Gamet, Victoire Garnier has contributed to improving the growth of small winegrowers after the Second World War by burnishing the know-how of the artisans in Champagne. Followed by two passionate grandfathers, François Gamet and Robert Heucq two figures of the wealth enrichment of the current Maison Gamet.

François, Philippe & Jean-François - Grandfather, father and son - are sharing today the same ‘savoir-faire’, at the same time, but with a different approach: one with nostalgia, the second with wisdom and Jean-François with ambition, accompanied by his sister, Marianne, the thinking head of the family.

The know-how of a good winemaker does not stop only with the elaboration of the wine, but the passion to transmit the art of working and to preserve its inheritance

Vineyards

Located in the Marne Valley, our vineyard is located on each bank of the river «La Marne». In this part of the Champagne Region, the soils are mainly formed with clay & limestone, where we also find sandy soils, notably in Fleury-la-Rivière. This typoe of soils are offering singular minerality and a creamy finish.

Our vines are 25 to 50 years old, and today, respectful of our environment, we are working our vineyard in a sustainable viticulture, guaranteed by the certification with ‘High Environmental Value’.

Winemaking

Nowadays, the Maison Gamet promises an ambitious development, with new projects, new inspirations, while preserving a philosophy and an authentic Savoir-Faire. The Champagne Region is now an it’s turning point, and announces years of prestige if of course, weather condition permits it.

The Family Gamet is committed to preserving its heritage & legacy, while continuing to offer modernity & authenticity.

The Champagnes from Maison Gamet reflect a know-how, a heritage, a story of time and family bottled. From a “Blanc de Noirs” to a champagne blended from different years of reserve wines; Champagne Gamet progress with the conviction that all good moments are appreciated with effervescence.

The philosophy of the family? Evolve in a respectful environment, valuing viticulture based on nature’s beats.

While Philippe Gamet favors blended champagne, offering a perfect balance of aromas, Jean-François Gamet, the son of the Maison elaborates discreetly a collection of “parcellaire” champagnes representative of the atypical soils of the Marne Valley.

And yes, at the Maison Gamet, everything is tailored for your needs. Our mission, making you discover our clay, limestone and sandy soils!
