The Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Premier Cru "Montmains" 2023 is a refined and harmonious white wine crafted from organically farmed 100% Chardonnay grown on roughly 30-year-old vines rooted in classic Kimmeridgian limestone soils. Aged for 14 months primarily in large oak casks (foudres) alongside a portion in stainless steel, the 2023 vintage strikes an exceptional balance between rich texture and clean, classical freshness. It displays a pale yellow color with silvery highlights, opening with inviting aromas of acacia blossom, fresh nectarine, citrus peel, and subtle gunflint. On the palate, it is generous and creamy yet structured by vibrant, thirst-quenching acidity, leading into an intriguing, lengthy finish defined by salty oyster shells and chalky minerality. It makes a wonderful pairing for fresh shellfish, grilled white fish, or creamy mushroom risotto.
