Firebird Shiraz 2019 ($40) – The fruit here comes from the Woodlands Ridge Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, and already has a significant period of time under its belt. Maturation was for two years in French oak.Dark maroon with a blood red rim, the nose offers aromas of chocolate, herbs, aniseed and plums. There is a silky texture through to powdery tannins and the finish has very good length. The wine is finely balanced throughout. It has age under its belt, to its advantage, but it is still fresh and youthful. Enjoy this over the next ten to twelve years. 94.
