Purple-fruit, dark-licorice and conifer aromas follow through to a medium to full body with firmness and a linear flow that goes on for minutes. Racy tannins and focus. Give this until at least 2028.

The 2019 Promontory comes across as relatively open-knit for a wine from this site. Some of that is probably just a reflection of the generally opulent style of the year. As warmer vintages have shown here so far, the fruit profile leans into the redder end of the spectrum. Elegant and polished for a barrel sample, the 2019 is shaping up to be a beauty. 95-98
