Sourced from steep, iron-rich hillside terraces along the Vaca Mountain range on Napa’s eastern flank, the 2023 "Vaca Ridge" showcases the wild, rustic elegance and formidable structure inherent to high-elevation mountain viticulture.

The nose is dark, savory, and intensely aromatic, unleashing crushed wild blackberries, black currant, and mountain blueberry, layered over complex notes of crushed slate, dried thyme, pipe tobacco, dried violets, and subtle cocoa nib. On the palate, the wine enters with immediate verticality, tension, and weight. A dense, tightly coiled core of dark brambly fruit expands across the mid-palate, framed by muscular, fine-grained, and dusty hillside tannins that provide firm structural traction. Supported by the vibrant, chiseled acidity of the cool 2023 season, it finishes long, focused, and dry, leaving a lasting impression of crushed rock minerality, espresso bean, and dark fruit skin.
