Chateau La Tour de By is one of the most famous estates of the Medoc. The estate is can trace its origins back to vineyards planted at the site in the 1700s. It is located at Begadan in the north of the Medoc wine-growing appellation in close proximity to the Gironde.

The situation of these vineyards is quite stunning, overlooking the Gironde estuary. The gravel soil of the area forces the vines to set down deep roots and the wines are extremely consistent with quality fruit being the key.
Frédéric Leclerc has 75 hectares under vine, and produces excellent full-flavoured claret with lovely aromatics which develop further with extended bottle age. This is very traditionally styled Médoc.
