Dom Caudron bears the name of the village's most famous priest, who in 1929 donated 1000 francs to wine growers to enable them to set up the cooperative. The 23 wine producers along with the priest therefore joined forces and bought a pressing room with the aim of getting the most value from their grapes. Today, their estate occupies 120 hectares located in Passy Grigny, in the Marne valley. The Passy Grigny wine cooperative produces Champagne that displays the richness of its terroir through high quality blending, where passion and tradition come together to create DOM CAUDRON In the heart of the Marne valley, the Dom Cauldron estate offers a tour of its cellars enabling visitors to discover the rich tradition that is still upheld today.
A wide range of top of the range wines and vintages are available, leaving visitors with an indelible mark of the region’s know-how. The DOM CAUDRON Abbot, this wine lover, with a keen eye for business, immediately recognised the value of the Champagne grapes and in 1929, put forward the suggestion that local wine producers should come together to sell their crop. Until this time, their wine had been mainly for personal consumption, but today this Champagne is available to all. An Epicurean of life, the Abbot was a lover of fine wines produced using traditional methods and know-how. A jovial and sociable character, he used to take lunch every day with the wine Passy Grigny wine growers in order to enjoy their precious nectar.
