100% Meunier - (50% matured in oak barrels)
This barrel aged Champagne boasts a very pure, magnificent light golden colour. The effervescence produces a galaxy of small bubbles creating a light, creamy mousse. On the nose, the Champagne opens on spicy notes such as nutmeg and ginger that are quickly replaced by noticeably oaky aromas (vanilla, liquorice, coconut). This impression combines harmoniously with fragrances of dried hay, lime blossom and hot stone. After a few seconds of warming, we can also make out fresh walnut and a hint of lemon. On the nose, the champagne expresses both the nobility of the terroir and the perfect mastery of its particular vinification process.
On the palate, the Champagne shows excellent freshness, wooded scents intermingle joyously giving an impression of balance and assertiveness. Aromas of malt, cinnamon and coriander, as well as raisins, all come together to produce a very pleasant to drink Champagne.
The dosage is subtle, the concentration and substance alone giving this impression of elegance and smoothness. The long lingering finish expresses itself and then very slowly fades with a hint of vanilla caramel. In a nutshell: A success.
