Wine Moments

Here you can see wine moments from tastingbook users.    or    to see wine moments from your world.

Neal Martin/BWW2022 - Best Bordeaux Wine Critic of the World, Wine Writer (United Kingdom)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  20 wines

The 2016 La Tâche Grand Cru was picked on September 24–25 at 31hL/ha (the highest of the five crus). It has an utterly sublime bouquet of blackberry, briar, crushed limestone, a dash of cracked black pepper and a little oregano. This is extremely complex and displays exquisite focus, to the extent that you could just sit and nose it all day. The palate is beautifully balanced, the spicy red fruit framed by filigreed tannin that belies its backbone. There is a gentle crescendo from start to finish, though being La Tâche it retains complete control. The precision and detail in the final third are deeply impressive. Less fruit-forward than the 2015, and lightly spiced, with an insistent grip. There is a captivating sense of completeness that will ensure longevity through three or four decades. 1,814 cases produced. Tasted at Corney & Barrow’s annual in-bottle tasting in London.

Clive Coates / MW, Wine Writer (France)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  10 wines

Meo Camuzet Richebourg 1999 / This is a full-bodied, vigorous, concentrated and quite oaky wine; still very youthful. Splendid fruit, almost sweet, with very good grip and a very long finish. There is a lot of wine here, and it is of very fine qualty. It will still keep for ages.

Clive Coates / MW, Wine Writer (France)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  51 wines

Romanée-Conti, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2009 / Just a little less colour than the Tache. Not a lot on the nose at present. You have to go searching for it. What there is is very poised and very harmonious as well as being very complex and classy. The fruit is more red flavoured than the Tache. Marvelously fine and intense. Really quite excellent. 20 points

Christer Byklum , Wine Writer (Norway)  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  35 wines

“Comtes de Lafon Montrachet 2005 - 97 points / Straw yellow. Starting out with honey, nuts and butter, with more air all kinds of citrus and some orange flowers as well, superb minerality, detailed. Fresh acidity, creamy texture, bit rich and nutty, intense, layered, slight caramelized apples note, some bitter notes, orange peel, smoky minerals, ever so sligjtly rough in the incredibly long finish, minutes. ”

John Kapon / CEO / Ackerr Merrall & Condit, Pro (United States)  tasted  4 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  32 wines

“This Rousseau Chambertin 1946 is possibly one of the last bottles in existence. Allen found it 'delicious' and called it his 'surprise wine of the year.' Doug found it 'lovely.' It had a unique, nutty nose in a fresh popcorn way, a little gassy but still with nice smoke and earth aromas. The palate was also unique and delicious. Someone noted 'there is real grip here,' and the wine was absolutely rich, creamy and luscious, but 'more Brooklyn than Manhattan,' Rob accurately assessed. That is strictly a New York thing for those of you that might not get it, and it was 100% accurate. A touch dirtier and more rugged, the 1946 may have been more at home in detention than in a school play, but it was still excellent, alive and kicking. Long and with classic, citric tang on its palate and a pinch of what used to be vitamin, the 1946 stirred the pot up when Eric called it a '92 point wine but a 99 point experience.' Allen talked me down a point, but I think I talked him up one back ”

Mari Kalmari, Pro  tasted  1 wines  from  Domaine Anne & François Gros . In a tasting of  17 wines
