Written Notes

Pedro Ximénez de Sacristía 2006, a marvel this PX that Alvear began its production in 1998, thus becoming the only winery in the world to produce a full vertical range of Pedro Ximénez vintages. The best harvests of this varietal undergo static aging in the Pedro Ximénez de Sacristía winery.

The result is a vintage PX, which I bring you today, specifically the 2006.

A marvel that in sight leaves us a mahogany color, very dark, with certain iodized trimmings in movement in the glass and, despite its chromatic intensity, it is a really bright wine. The tear is abundant and flows spectacularly in the glass. A wine of 15º vol.

On the nose it is a wine of incredible aromatic complexity, of a high intensity, where fruity touches are perceived, even some freshness, clear contributions of raisined fruit, hints of figs and, immediately, infinite contributions of aging enter, with balsamic touches, wood (cedar), tobacco, cigar box, toasted, light roasted, caramel, balsamic contributions, hints of honey, spicy (rosemary), ... an incredible aromatic set without a doubt.

I love the palate, with a velvety entry, which leaves a step with volume throughout the palate, unctuous, dense, with contributions to nuts such as dates or hazelnuts, coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, toffee, with a very long finish, but very long.

A wine this Pedro Ximénez de Sacristía 2006 of obligatory tasting and that after this one is a wine that deserves a qualification of Excellent.
