The Araujo Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a unique allure to it. It is the finesse, purity of fruit, vivid acidity and profound mineral character that set this wine apart from the other Napa wines. Its style is almost reminiscent of Pomerol. It is a sophisticated wine with great potential. Thanks to the Araujos vineyard management, the wines are showing an increasing amount of the terroir character. Written Notes
Good looking normal size bottle, in an excellent condition and has bottom neck level. Colour is ruby red, and looking healthy and deep. On the nose it is intense, opulent, refined and complex. The taste is focused, rich, full, with silky tannins, full-bodied, with well-integrated and complex structure. On the palate it is layered and has mushrooms, herbs, blackcurrant, blueberry, leather, white fruits, tropical fruits and tobacco flavours. The finish is long, extensive, lingering and vibrant. This wine is sophisticated, outstanding and masterpiece. I paid around 1k-3k€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least 2h before tasting. Good value for money.
The first wine of the last flight finally delivered, with a deep, smoky, earthy nose and heavy, underlying fruit. There was beef, plum, cassis and blackberry aromas, and its finish was the most serious of the night so far. Justin was thinking Colgin, while another wondered Pride Reserve. The style of wine was, indeed, mountainous, with a big presence of tannins and alcohol
