A powerful and structured Napa Valley Cabernet from the high-elevation vineyards of Atlas Peak, the 2019 Au Sommetdelivers depth, concentration and a distinctive volcanic minerality. The bouquet is intense and layered, showing ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and cassis, intertwined with notes of graphite, tobacco leaf and cedar. Underlying hints of dark chocolate, roasted herbs and dried spice add complexity.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with a firm, well-defined structure. Concentrated dark fruit is supported by substantial, finely textured tannins and lively acidity that lift the core and give the wine both energy and precision. Savoury nuances of black pepper, earth and subtle floral lift balance the powerful fruit drive, while oak is seamlessly integrated, contributing spice and richness without oppressive weight.
The finish is long, persistent and spirited, with lingering cassis, crushed black pepper and mineral tension. A commanding, terroir-inflected Cabernet built for both immediate satisfaction and medium-long-term ageing.
