The Story

Blend: 77% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Nero, 1% Pinot Bianco

Alma Gran Cuvée Bellavista is an epitome of our understanding La Franciacorta.
It is the maximum expression of a project that, since 1977, has taken its place as a goal the search for the pure essence of harmony. Today, it is a symbol of a tradition that wants to represent, in quality and type, the soul more mysterious than the land of Franciacorta and the oenological style of Bellavista.
A result obtained through a traditional method that has become by now rare for the meticulous care we devote to every single phase of processing and for the respect we grant to "time", choosing nature and its extraordinary are the only guide and unit of measurement biodiversity.

The name, "Alma", is a tribute to the land of Franciacorta that generates wonders from the Latin "almus" = which nourishes, feeds and does grow life. By extension: great, noble, magnificent.

We have always cultivated the vineyard as if it were a small, precious one garden.
The Bellavista "Cru" covers today 147 plots which are divided into 224 micro parcels. We work on an extension of 190 hectares vines and we make a classification in them of 64 different types of soils which represent all the 6 units of landscape of Franciacorta: an exemplary biodiversity in every harvest gives us the charm of an expressive range extraordinarily wide and rich in nuances.

Alma Gran Cuvée is coming from the 10 parcels from Franciacorta that over time have turned out more suited to expressing traits of character and elegance. This choice presupposes a distinctive geographical location that meets the following requirements:

Orientation: South or Southeast
Altitude: from 200 to 350 meters
Exposure: maxim to the breezes that come from Lake Iseo e from the Prealps.
Age of the vines: +20 years old

Written Notes

A small jewel of the house of Erbusco, created with a selection of base wines which are added 9 vintages of reserve wines, with a subsequent aging on the lees of 30 months. Chardonnay with a small participation of multifaceted Pinot Noir on the nose, elder and white peach on top, then white pepper, crisp mouth, savory, with a nice persistence. – Luca Gardini 96p.

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is green-yellow and light. On the nose it is open, intense, youthful, complex, refined, fresh and charming. The taste is fresh, harmonious, focused, elegant, silky, vivid, and dry, and average in acidity, light, with balanced, concentrated, well-structured, good texture, complex structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has steely, citrus, white fruits, creamy, bread and toasty flavours. The finish is long, lingering, pure and vibrant. This wine is sophisticated and fine. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years.
